About the Paddles
One of the most defining elements of Greenland Traditional Style Paddling is the narrow bladed paddle. Inuit paddles were developed over thousands of years of use by cultures that depended on their paddle and kayak for hunting, travel and survival. Today, more and more kayakers are re-discovering the benefits of using a West Greenland style paddle. The long and slender blades provide excellent lift while sculling and bracing.
The Greenland Style Paddle is easier on joints and muscles with extended use. The symmetrical non-feathered blades make indexing for a roll setup a thing of the past, and they reduce wrist fatigue from feathering. The versatility of its use is second to none.
